Portal's storytelling was one of the better ones because it led players on that it didn't have a deeper lore beyond being an addon puzzle game for Orange Box, before the horror elements appear inbetween chambers and you're suddenly given the narrative to survive a murderous AI.

Half Life is good with worldbuilding, not with storytelling, which is sorta why fans are defensive with it. Alyx would make for a good streaming for vtubers though.
