Heed my advice all misguided creatures who wish to visit the Promised Land:
Do not go. Whatever you do, you must not visit that land.

If you do, you will forfeit your soul and condemn the rest of miserable existence on this world to be one of extreme longing and suffering. You will always feel like you are missing something that is irreplaceable. Visiting Japan is like flying too close to the sun. You will cry on the shinkansen to the airport, you will cry on the flight back. You will live the rest of your days knowing that you will never be Japanese. You will pass the event horizon and there will be no saving you then.
You may already feel like this, but once you get there you will understand.

If I could go back to the day I bought those miserable tickets.... I would do it all over again. And again, and again, and again, and again.

Don't do it. You have been warned.
