It was very funny having a view at everyone's inner thoughts. I wonder if ZUN's main idea for this plot was exactly this.

Byakuren being very human and selfish despite being the head monk.
Miko really damn wanting to cleanse sin.
Marisa being envious and Reimu and Yukari mostly always taking the main spot.
Reisen being just so damn frustrated with everyone due to her normal self being kinda submissive and shy. Mokou liking dream Reisen was funny too.

Tenshi and Shinmyoumaru are kinda pieces of shit, I wouldn't like to be around them.

Ichirin and Futo cooperating and being good buddies was very cute too. To not talk about how Reimu at the end takes care of Shion because nobody else wants to have her around, that was cute too.

We're already 15 years into the current Touhou canon, and the Hakurei shrine being poor has been one of the primary running gags for all this time. Likewise, Reimu being lazy is an integral part of her character by now. Permanently changing one of these constants after all this time, in just a few panels, would be really strange.
