Iori is the best.

Iori will never be happy, just deal with it. She loses tension each week and her tension tanks when you give the wrong answer in morning greetings and when she's dissed by the judges. Tension affects how many points she gets in front of the judges, if her bar is in the blue it'll be a hell of a lot less points than if it's full red.

The twins are easy as hell to produce, one good answer before they perform can give them half a tension bar and make up for all sorts of shit they've gone through. Their stats aren't so great though.

Yukiho has a balance of both, good personality keeps her tension from falling too fast like Iori and good stats mean she can do better than the twins.

If I were you just go through the game a time or two to get the hang of it. If the PSP games are like the Xbox one then you'll get idolmaster points each time you finish so you can produce more girls and blah blah blah you'll get a better hang of the game.
