Your furred wings caress my back
Your wet lips nibble the cusp of my jaw.
I sleep with a toothbrush
Breathing what’s left of your bat musk
While you disappear nightly
Shedding your silly hat to soar naked under the scarlet moon.
When I installed your silly hat
I craved your bite.
I watched your flap and chirp
Your small red teeth tangled in my fat arms.
I entered between your beady eyes
Underneath the beds of your claws.
You writhed and hissed until
Gathering your wings together,
You plunged into the scarlet mansion
Shrieking in what could have been either sorrow or hunger for more silly hats.
The thorns tore your soft funny headgear.
In the morning I found you, licking the blood from my broken toothbrush.
