Coincidentally, a slightly more matured Remilia, only a few days before, had asked a favor of Yukari: to find her a potentially suitable husband, preferably a "knight" (given my irl career it wouldn't be too much of a stretch). Given the nature of the mansion I consider trying to escape but eventually decide against it after being "convinced" otherwise by my primary caretaker, Sakuya. I soonafter meet Remilia, who pretended to be a caretaker but obviously wasn't, and she explains where I am, who everyone is, etc., while I describe my own background. We find common ground and bond, regardless of the 500ish year age gap, and it isn't until several months later that it's found that I am, in fact, not the suitor Remilia ordered when an actual knight in shining armor shows up one day. Regardless we marry and I spend the next several years travelling the world(s) with her and studying extensively under Patchouli. A shitload more happens after this, including a number of wars inside and outside of Gensokyo and remi becoming the vampire empress, but I think that's enough autism for now.

tl;dr I go to Japan, join the Secret Sealing Club, shit goes down and I end up in Gensokyo. I'm extremely lucky and end up a permanent resident of the SDM. You asked.
