The true ancestors aren't a crossover, it's just expanding the lore of the world building. I suspect all other crypters aren't human either (Scandinavia in particular is called the "oldest" of them, has a fake name, and nobody knows where is he from, and he was "born in the wrong era"). First of, they got completely extinct, so Hinako's existence marks a departure of tsukihime and fate. Not that I mind, because I really liked her story as Hinako and Consort Yu.
