a distinction should be made between an idol who plays guitar and a cool guitar girl and a guitar idol.
an idol who plays guitar is an idol who takes cheki first and a guitar girl second. she may work her way up to a cool guitar girl who is just a girl in a band or a singer/songwriter who doesn't have to take cheki anymore because she is a real artist with songs on streaming services like kanoko or ano or ayuni d or chitti. they usually only have rhythm guitar skills but they are good enough to stop with the idoling.

a TRUE guitar idol dedicates her life to her instrument, plays lead guitar in a band or three and absolutely fukkin shreds like hendrix or dimebag. She dgaf about singing and then also does the whole idol/cheki/sns bit on top of that.
