Chapulines are only eaten regularly in a small region (Oaxaca). Everywhere else they're also regarded as an exotic food and lots of people avoid them. I'm from the center and can eat them alright; I don't dislike them but neither especially like them (too salty). They're also normally super small and unimpressive (0.5 - 2.0 cm), compared with the giant bugs they serve on BINGO or even with the grasshopers that Saho includes in her obento. BTW: eating Acrididae specifically, as some of you may know, is kosher.

TL;DR Anin exagerates.
