I couldn't get into episode 5. Too much magic bullshit for me. Episodes 1-4 were bearable 40% of the time.

I can appreciate that they're changing up the poses of the sprites and that the furniture won't look so copy/pasted, but I will agree with the sentiment that the expressions are just not the same. They should've done what Fukumoto does; get assistants to draw everything but the faces.

If Battler, after bumbling his way through so many episodes, pulled a "just according to keikaku (TL NOTE: KEIKAKU MEANS ASS PULL)" moment, that would probably be the worst writing Ryu07 has done since Higurashi and its ludicrous "armed soldiers lose to a couple fucking schoolkids" ending. Battler has not been characterized as a genius.

Out of fictional characters he's closest to Phoenix Wright: a some fighting spirit, some moments of cleverness here and there, but mostly he wins because the plot takes pity on him.
