>Over a thousand years ago a Kitsune was born in a small village
>She grew up among accepting humans and people of her kind
>She loved life, everything was new and interesting to her
>As decades passed she saw the world around her twist and change
>Humans she knew and cared for died as new ones who rejected her were born
>She found temporary comfort in the Kitsunes who didn't and wouldn't change
>It's only after spending decades playing mahjong and chatting with them that she grew sick of them
>Eventually she began to thirst for a new place she could call 'Home'
>She spent the next centuries wandering all over the continents
>No matter where she went it was always the same
>The first year would intrigue her and give her a slimmer of hope
>The second would worry her and make her reconsider
>The third would scar her and cause her to leave
>This cycle repeated over and over again until she finally decided to live the rest of her existence secluded
>Many people tried to disturb her peace and she cursed every single one of them
>It was already too late before she could realize it, she had become a cursed being herself
>The repeated use of the magic caused flames of calamity to be ever present around her
>She didn't even need to curse people who approached her for them to be afflicted with disasters
>After a certain number of generations humans finally learned not to come close to her
>All of them except a certain young man whose persistence was only equal to his stupidity
>He'd come to just stare at her for hours on end and leave without a word or action
>Each time he'd come back hurt, sick, wounded, robbed, empty, etc...
>Perhaps he did not realize that all his misfortunes were caused by his visiting her
>Or perhaps he was fully aware of it but was willing to endure it all just to watch an old fox play mahjong by herself
>One day the Ktisune walked over to the barely hidden spot where he would watch her from
>He did not look scared nor did he attempt to run away
>After a moment of silence she spoke:
>"Would you care for a game?"
