My word/kanji study routine:
>play game
>trace every single fucking character with your finger, even in kana soup games. if the dialogue says ひび, you do 罅. do use some common sense and ignore words you have 0 interest in
>recite the names of the parts as you go. for 罅, it would be ほとぎ(缶) (the can character thingy) + とらかんむり(虍) (the top part of the tiger character 虎) + the thingy on the side of 呼ぶ (乎, only found it in じっと/凝乎と)
>if it's a new one, think of other similar characters to jog my memory (卿? reminds me of 柳(やなぎ). 髏? It's got the shit on the left of 数's old form (數) on the right). if possible, try to make sense of the parts (投げる has 扌(てへん) the hand radical, so it likely has something to do with hands)
>also, write down at least one word for each character on a txt file for future reference. ideally, group similar characters together to make it easier to search in case your memory fails (薔薇/バラ? same line as 微妙(びみょう), 特徴(とくちょう), 懲役(ちょうえき), 黴/カビ, etc. also, 吝嗇(りんしょく) on the next line)

>beats blindly drilling lines of runes like a retard anyday
>I can read almost anything aloud
>I can write by hand. 0 stroke order mistakes (you can guess strokes orders on the spot 98% of the time from rules and the parts, the rest are outlier patterns)
>I can write shit like 嚔, 龜, 腱鞘炎, 嚢胞, 蠟燭, 鑿, 髑髏, 爨ぐ(炊ぐ), 宥める, 窘める, 嗜み, etc. from memory
cons
>it's slow
>I don't know how the fuck to use most of the words I'm reading (哀哭(あいこく)? It's sort of like lamentation and 哭 is related to 泣, that's all I know lol)
>I have 0 idea on how to integrate 4nipmoonrunewords into the process
>I have non-existent active language skills

I got tired of Anki. Ichimaru is my best friend now.
