I was first introduced to it from an unusual source: xxxholic. the show itself isnt that great but one episode featured the mc trying to play against other characters with little knowledge of the rules. I was intruiged and downloaded 4winds to try it out. unknown to me at the time I was playing with chinese rules tossing tiles but it became a passtime. it's really only been 3 or years since I actually learned the real rules.
