As mentioned before, it depends greatly on your background. In terms of risk/reward, doing it during your studies is probably the best in my opinion.

JET is a program for importing native english speakers to teach as assistants in classrooms. There are other programs along this vein, though much smaller. I personally detest the JET program for unimportant reasons. For the purposes of actually getting there, its probably the widest catchall. Just look at some second step integration programs and act for yourself while you're on it.
