a few minor questions:

1) How viable is a solo (non-pet) build in E+? I kept reading about the necessity of pets, but wasn't sure to what degree people meant "makes things easier" vs "no way to beat later chapters without them". Keep in mind I'm fairly new, and not a pro player who knows crazy min-max builds.

2) Is there a way to apply PCCs to pets? I've tried both shape change and "customize appearance", but the sprite seems to override body/clothes changes to the pet.

3) With the tamer's whip, does the master/servant standing stuff play any useful role anymore?

If anyone remembers, I used to make Elona+ generals on /vg/ (before the hype died down and the survivors migrated to /rlg/), and I made some spritesheets and a Wild Arms music pack.

What's going on with this game these days? Tons of Elona+ updates since then?

Is Elona+ still the de facto official, best version?

What is the actual benefit of using a potion of descent?

to twink? or does it actually have a real use?

By lowering xp to "0" does that mean it effectively makes it easier to level?

I have my magic dude up to like 125 and I havent seen a pot of that yet.

I've been pumping luck the entire game as my highest stat and wishes aren't too hard for me to come by. I've long run out of things to wish for.
My pets seem to get them a lot more though, and they are nice enough to let me make the wish
