Add the resists/special attributes you want first via Irma and Thalia. Then level up the weapon (follow the wiki closely). Also be wearing some endgame equipment already so you know what gaps need filling (typically fire, ice, and lightning are already high from the swimsuit). Other than that, savescum like a madman if you don't know what you're doing, because there's nothing worse than contracting terminal autism just because you messed up one little thing in the process.
