Debuffs exist for the E3 map and boss fleet. When the gauge falls to within 660 HP, the boss has a further debuff at last kill. Debuffing the map will open a new starting point closer to the boss. Debuffing the boss fleet is believed to lower the armour of the two CV hime. Debuffing the boss at last kill makes her take extra damage with each hit. For hard mode, it also sets her at final form, allowing the gauge to be destroyed, instead of having to sink her normal form first for each last kill attempt. How to debuff:
-To debuff the E3 map: clear the transport gauge. (Doing so will also enable the use of up to 2 land base squadrons for support at E3.)
-To debuff the E3 boss fleet: after clearing the transport gauge, acquire one S rank each at nodes I and J. S ranks obtained prior to clearing the transport gauge will not count.
-To debuff the E3 boss at last kill: clear the debuffing quest which appears when you reach last kill, and which requires two A ranks at node J.

For the E3 map debuff, a cutscene will play revealing the second starting point.
For the E3 boss fleet debuff, if you hear the quest completion jingle when you return to base after a sortie, it means the debuff is successful. You only get to hear it once per successful debuff.
WARNING: All debuffs will reset if switching difficulties. Any progress made will also be reset.

News:
-The Winter 2017 event, a 3 map event titled "Reconnaissance Forces Emergency Deployment! Operation 'Hikari'", has started. It consists of 2 standard operation maps and an extra operation map. The event will end on February 28.
-The new ships implemented for this event are Matsukaze (E2 reward), Fujinami (E2 drop), I-13 (E3 drop) and I-14 (E3 reward).
-Setsubun lines and sprites have been removed and replaced with Valentine's Day lines and sprites, including new Valentine's Day sprites for Oboro, Takanami and Minazuki.
-Zara is slated for a Kai 2 on February 28. Saratoga will also get a second remodel.
-The 5th year of KanColle will see foreign ships from "interesting places".
-New Akizuki- and Matsu-class destroyers and escort carriers are under plans to be added.
