People seem to get a really strong negative impression of her from the early chapters of Hermit, but that's unfair. She's cool, knowledgeable, slightly mysterious, and an oni to boot. She also seems to genuinely be looking out for the well-being of Reimu, and of Gensoukyou in general, in addition to whatever her personal plans are, unlike many other characters prominent in the print works. And of course, being prominent in the print works, she's a much more developed character than most.

Just because you can't appreciate a good lecture now and then is no reason to dislike her.
