I get what the anon who sparked all this is feeling though, I mean with the vn he's reading, the writer has what I'm pretty sure is an actual fetish for making the reader feel awful about only being able to make one girl happy at the expense of the others. The intended feeling for you to come away from his stuff is, 'if only there was some way to make everyone happy', hence why a lot of the drama works.

But of course the answer is always 'well there isn't, so pick the one you most wanna see with her shirt off/the one with the saddest backstory and deal with it'.

Unmei Yohou's the best example I know of, also a pretty good read for other reasons as well. Imouto route comes early on and is a bit short though. Wonderfully dodges a shitty drama event that's made me groan in other stories.
