That just shows how much this shit has grown in the past 20 years. Back then, projects like Touhou or Tsukihime were made by a couple of people with literally no budget, burned to the nearest batch of floppies they could get their hands on, packed in a plastic bag with a cheaply-printed pamphlet, and sold at Comiket stalls to whoever's would buy their crap. You don't get any more underground than that. And yet, both franchises went on to make billions, and redefined the entire Japanese pop culture.
