The emotional energy from Libera Me From Hell and the idealized, crystallized memories associated to it and the anime are a must as a 'failsafe' mechanism if you ever face non-existence. Thing is, nothing much happens during most of it, and even during the most elevated moments the show doesn't construct odds nor builds stakes properly. It's just 'wow, that had a 0% chance of happening, but we surpassed ourselves, evolved several galaxies in virtually no time and got over it' with a soft Libera Me From Hell in the background. It's something useful for the collective unconsciousness and that's why it's heavily pushed, but I would definitely agree to calling it overrated since there is much better japanese media with the theme of surpassing infinitely impossible odds in sub-planck time that verily surpasses it.
