Yuuka turned to face Hana on the couch, body turned like it did earlier when she was holding her. The bitter and barely hidden violence in her voice from earlier was gone like the intense heat of the summer sun behind winter’s wrath, “You have to understand, we’re here for you and will always be. We won’t… I won’t… Hana, I’ve chosen to love you as a daughter, unless you were to reject me- no even if you did I wouldn’t stop caring for you in the slightest! Yuuka’s face was marred by something Hana had never seen before, fear and pain that manifested itself as tears in the corner of her eyes and wrinkles in her brow before they welled up too much to stop. She was surprised at this but didn’t reject her earnest feelings, “I was so scared when you couldn’t hear me, I was terrified that I’d never see you again that I even considered groveling at her feet just to be able to see you again!”

Yuuka ignored the tears in her eyes as she spoke earnestly and from the heart, “No matter what you decide, no matter what happens in the future. The thing I want most for you is to be happy and safe, the times you’ve come over for tea and talk have been pleasant memories without exception. My wish is simply that you can show me that smiling face again and talk without reservations! And when… and when Anon is freed, if you both would come over or -live with me” she said that last bit a bit quicker, yet drew the glances of the assembled to her reddened face just the same, “I hope that we can forget this terrible business and be a true family!”

A simple nod what was Hana gave, a simple nod was all that was needed before Yuuka embraced her in a warm hug. Hana smiled in her embrace, there was no pretense here, nor was there the guilt and desire to keep it hidden from the world. It was almost strange to Hana, how many times had she felt this way with anyone but father and Aunn? It was a rare thing that only burned in her childhood memories and recent past with Marisa, and occasionally Alice, soothing her after one of her daily horrors manifested itself.

Hana hugged back without reservation, her tears once again staining Yuuka’s blouse.

When Hana looked up, the hug over almost regretfully she saw the smiling faces of those assembled, including Sana, Sara, Kosuzu, Aunn, and the others that had reappeared at some time or another. Perhaps they’d been there the entire time? Hana blushed, though the heat on her face was only joined by the new redness and she hoped it wasn’t the most visible thing in the world.

With a satisfied sounding voice betraying a neutral face Mima spoke up, “you hear that my lazy disciples? You’ll simply have to get stronger if you wish to claim your crush, it seems that the flower youkai herself has gotten ahead of you by a vast margin”

Their faces grew red at that comment and she could’ve sworn she heard a ‘tsk’ coming from Tewi who kept her pleasant face perfectly in place with a practice that would put a noh mask to shame. As always, no one else seemed to notice the inaba’s actions...

And damn, didn't think this was the flower's story, but very cool and many substantial connections to be drawn; should be a pleasant addition to the Yukari chapters. Should get them by tomorrow!
