Regarding pikes and lances: All three colored cards with 'pike' in their name in picture. Two are white, one is red. All colored cards with lance in their name can be found at http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&name=+[lance]+![balance]+!
[glance]+![vigilance]&color=+![C] . 8 out of 15 are white, 4 are red, 2 are black, and one is black/blue. Blue only has half a lance, and green has no lances at all. White is clearly the lance/pike color, followed by red. This is related to lances representing first strike, which is primarily white and red.
