All you really have to do to survive is be as good at Danmaku as a fairy or just a midboss like Daiyousei. None of the youkai that prowl around looking for humans to eat are as good at Danmaku as the incident masterminds, whom Reimu and friends take care of. Just skim the Suzunaan books until you can bullshit up a spell card with pretty geometric shapes and 4 or 5 bullshit-fast shots mixed in and you'll survive every small fry that comes after you.

Depends on what you're trying to get. If you want something like in your pic, I'd go to a second hand kimono store. Good quality new kimonos can be thousands of dollars or even more. Also some kimono places have annoying sales staff that are like used cars salesmen.

Second hand places have vintage stuff for relatively cheap. I bought one to wear for my daughter's 753 ceremony and it was about $300. This is a good option if you need something fancy.

If you're okay with something simpler, and cheaper you could just find a Japanese store on Amazon that sells casual kimonos or yukatas. I buy from Kyouetsu's Amazon storefront. You can get a set for ¥5k-8k. If you're getting a kimono, get the undergarment too (any color except white).

Finally, learn to tie your own obi, don't get one of those retarded velcro ones. It's easier than tying a necktie.
