Yes and yes

Almost all of the HD stuff is 1080p, a few older videos are 720p. You can tell by clicking on the PC button, the one that looks like this 高画質 is full HD

And sadly yes you're forced to use their player but it works pretty well imo and download speeds are fast. You can also stream on their website
