My middle name means "protector, defender”, or "warrior”. My first name means "son of the gray haired one." Perhaps i'm the son of Rinnosuke...and I hang out with Reimu?

I really like Rinnosuke but dislike his typical fanon depiction. But the same could be said of many Touhous.
I also don't like how he gets shipped with every Touhou simply because he is one of the only males introduced in the series. They could at least try to make sense out of their pairings, but then again essentially every Touhou shipping or pairing is horrible.

There's quite a bit of genderswap Rinnosuke work out there.

But I find it a funnier to that, as a freak of nature, there is one meek, beta-as-fuck dude in all of Gensokyo, stuck in a land where everyone is gay and walks all over him.

However I believe ZUN has acknowledged there are other males in Gensokyo, he just never ever bothers drawing or talking about them. I think they're all human males at that, since Rinnosuke is a hybrid then apparently his mom was a youkai. After all, he's made female several types of creatures that have never had a female form even talked about historically.. for example I never ever have read about female tengu or oni besides in Touhou. So I guess all youkai are females. Who knows, maybe the females were the only ones left because the males were too aggressive and all got killed (as in stayed behind in our world to try to fight the humans rather than leave). Although, trying to make a rational explanation for a doujin world with an all-female cast is autism in the making so I'll stop there.
