I won't be able to upload the story until Saturday at the earliest because of A03's queue system, so have it now

The crowd starts to converge towards the descending figure. You need to see who lost, your life depends on it. You hear the other viewers muttering and whispering to each other as you squeeze through the crowd. Some of them to turn and look at you, their faces unreadable. Squeezing by a stone-faced wolf tengu, you find find the loser hoisting herself off the ground.

Aya gets to her feet, uneasy on her feet as she begins to cry. You can't believe it, it was all truly over now. Megumu lands, looking a bit winded and bruised from the fight but still the winner. She only glares at Aya. A tengu standing off to the side steps forward to examine both combatants. Judging from her formal choice of robes, you assume she's a judge of some kind. She claps her hands to quiet down the crowd and adjusts her glasses.

"The duel is over. Winner: Iizunamaru Megumu!"

As if waiting for these words, two tough looking Tengu step out of the crowd and restraint you.You slump weakly in their grasp, there was no point in struggling. "Get up" Megumu says to Aya "We're doing this now" The crowd seems to part like water as a procession forms and you and Aya are marched into town. You're too caught between your guards to give her more then a glance, but Aya is stumbling the whole way, her head facing the ground. Finally you arrive at your destination, a small wooden platform outside some building.

You are marched up the stairs and forced to your knees. As the judge starts to addresses the crowd about everything you've done against Megumu, a guard brings up a heavy looking sword and hands it over to Aya, forcing it in her hands. The judge finishes up her speech and a burlap sack is forced onto your head. Blinded, you can only hear the muffled sounds near you. Footsteps, quiet sobbing, the sounds of your own heart beating in your chest. You hear the voice of the judge "Please calm yourself, the strike needs to be clean so he doesn't suffer" You wait for the end and you suddenly feel a rush of-

Your story ends there, but Aya's did not. After the events of that say, The Bunbunmaru shut down. No explanation was given. Aya became a mere lackey to Megumu, doing all sorts of grunt work to her. Those who still saw Aya and cared noticed that she was much more quiet and miserable then before, but she never said why. Her life continued on like this for a while, until one day, A memorial tombstone to you appeared in the village's graveyard. Since you had gone missing before this, It had caused enough of a stir to get Marisa and Reimu to look into it, but all the craftsman could tell them a short haired woman paid him upfront to make it and put it into the graveyard. As this was going on, Aya flew out into the forests of Genskoyo.

She never returned.

I feel like that Aya don't want to get too attached to human, knowing she will just outlive them, while she friendly, Aya doesn't let human get too close to her hearts, I find that kinda sad.
