I'll try to keep this short since it seems you're not overly concerned about the HF idea either way.

>loftier goals
I suppose it's a little foolish to try to push it when almost everything is in Japanese, but I'd like to see if the community can be made into something better. That's the main reason I'm interested in building things in English(like the wiki and a new mod catalog) and making things more readily accessible(the mod packs). I think the main thing that keeps people who would otherwise be interested from getting into TDCG is a lack of accessibility.

>I will admit some decent things (schoolmate 2 HF patch, for example) have come out of HF, much as I dislike the community.
This is getting kind of off topic, but bears mentioning. If we branch outside of TDCG, it looks far better for them. I don't know if you've had much experience with Illusion games, but sb3utility was created and is maintained by a Hongfire user, and as I stated before it's a tool on a level with TDCGExplorer. DarkHound's Illusion Morpher is incredible as well, if possibly hard to understand without modelling knowledge. Unfortunately, I don't think they're the type to be interested in this, but I imagine there are more people on HF with talent that are(as evidenced by some mods produced there--but it seems most of them found interest lacking so stopped).

>Well... it couldn't hurt to throw it there I guess. I certainly wouldn't pester them about it, but a mention or two couldn't do any harm.
I mentioned it because I was talking about HF as if it's our only chance for people capable of modding, and seeing some of the things /3/ people make(supposedly), it'd be great if there were interested people. Also because I've been thinking about it and I'm not really sure how I'd go about trying to get /3/ interested yet, much less a programming board(beyond simply making a thread).

Looks like I failed at brevity.
