I can't really blame Kanako for wanting to bring technology to Gensokyo, even if it might fuck things up. Technology is awesome.

And even if she just wants faith, it's a relationship of mutual benefit, isn't it? Faith in return for blessings, a pretty good deal, no?

I don't think that mindset is fit for deciding on Gensokyo's future, though. Should be more of a secondary thing, no matter which one "rules", so to say, it doesn't conflict with Kanako's goal of being a great pillar of support to the community.

This bullet pattern, it's intensifying to the point where we may not be able to dodge it.
