They continued being close for 6 months after that.
They grew apart after 3 things -
- Suisei won MariKa tournament and Kanata was shit at it
- Aqua chose Kanata over suisei during their sleepover
- Kanata's ear disease got a lot worse and she stopped her Monday singing program

There is also the story of "a close friend from school" who asked Kanata out and Kanata rejected her, leading to them having a falling out, but there is no proof that it was suisei.
