If you're here, I have one question.
How much would you project for the cost of a full 3d model of a member?
I'm asking because I think it's the key of this business. Imagine when a member of Cover wants to get independent and buy out the right of the use of the model. Probably they won't agree with it because they want take profit as much and as long as they could. And it seems the cost of models is far above what one person can afford to pay as of now.
But there is another aspect. It is that the company may not be able to replace the personality of an idol with another one, as audiences will not accept idols if "voice actors" inside 3d models change, unlikely to ordinary anime. But probably "voice actors" themselves could change their 3d models wile keeping their audiences around them. Therefore I guess the company has to behave very generously to popular idols to keep their business going.
But it seems the technology of live 3D model streaming is becoming more and more inexpensive and handy, as Pekora said now she can do her 3d stream even from her house. So I guess the end of Holo would be when the cost of live 3d streaming becomes enough cheep so that even an independent streamer can pay for it.
