Honestly, the R18 ones I've seen are all mediocre. The all-ages/R15 ones tend to be a lot better if you can get off with no nudity. At least they seem to fix her cute tails clipping constantly.

The amount of time she would spend grooming is insane, like a regular girl with her hait, but hair and 9 long, fluffy tails. She also has lots of free time, so it's safe to say she is one of the cleanest touhou's after Sakuya.
All her time spent pondering meaningless mathmatical formulas is spent in the shower where she shampoo's and conditions her hair, then a seperate brand for her ears and tail, lastly eating cod liver oil and other suppliments for a glossy coat.
Their tails are a kitsune's biggest feature, her pride and joy (after Chen) she will take care of them. Yukari would also be pissed if her shikigami looked like shit, as Ran is effectively a sign of Yukari's power.

Ran isnt filthy. Unless it's a sexual context, because she must be extremely stressed. Even then she seems the vanilla type.

It's actually the humans who are the filthy ones, Reimu is lazy and Patchy is a stinky hikikomori who spends days without showering or eating.Mokou is probably the worst due to her lifestyle.
