Which means the double issue of FRIDAY dated May 10 is probably the final major gravure release of Hina... Maybe some more stuff that was in the works before the change comes out, but otherwise it seems to be the end. There was a long solo DVD bonus with this issue of FRIDAY, as if it's a last hurrah.
Of course, she won't come out and say she's not doing gravure anymore, why would she? Just like certain other "gravure models" who are now YouTubers and cosplayers or TV tarento and streamers, she'll keep her thirsty fans on the hook and never reel them in. Did she really dislike doing gravure so much? I don't mind that she's doing what she wants to do but it strikes me the wrong way, when these girls think they can just stop and come back any time and find their same old fans to embrace it. Even the ones who don't do full-time gravure, the other Miss Maga girls, they have a steady diet of appearances, they insist that they want to do gravure as long as magazines will let them, they feel good about it.
You get the sense that the ones who pull this shit don't care at all about their grav fans and think we'll just follow them doing whatever, and that just isn't true. Most of these women have vapid, boring personalities and nothing besides their looks going for them. They aren't smart, they can't entertain, they aren't charismatic without LUCKMAN doing the heavy lifting every week.
I fucking hate it. It isn't like when someone known as a screen actress or seiyuu or idol does occasional gravure shoots, of course that's acceptable. Gravure enjoyers know that it isn't worth the energy to follow them closely and can just sit back and soak it in, and their main fanbases are just happy for something different and new on occasion. It would be like an idol quitting her singing career to do gravure full time, then trying to have a concert every year or so. Who cares? But even then at least people will always appreciate the talent. Magazine gravure like this doesn't take talent outside of making ennui faces and acting semi natural on camera, everything is about their looks. If they give a good interview, that's a look at their charisma, but notice how nobody ever bothers to fact-find in Hina q&a's or translate the pages. She's boring, it's why she has no SNS presence.

At least we still have Aika, I would actually cry if she pulled this stunt (but not even, because she's charismatic and charming, and has her radio hour and her active socials), and Runa for now, but the MM winners are dropping like flies.
