I play it because it's a good time waster, has a ton of cute girls with their own little quirks (the SD sprites are really cute and there's some really wacky stuff going on with some of them), there's a ton of content and you usually always have something to do, whether it be the constant stream of events or the ultimate challenges or the character quests or equipment or whatever else.

The gameplay is pretty simple, and I don't think most people will argue otherwise. It's almost entirely RNG-based, and involves powering your own units to tip the scales in your favor while occasionally using the Solar Drive (your only active skill, which can be unleashed when it's charged and hits all enemies for some damage that scales with player level). An Auto button would probably be pretty good, honestly. Instead you need to click the advance button over and over again.

If you want strategy, you should probably play something like Aigis or Seiken Manifestia instead. FKG is all about the fluff, but the fluff is pretty damn good.
