Today's the 1st of November, which means that today's the first day of NaNoWriMo the National Novel Writing Month.
The goal is to, within this month, churn out a 50,000 word novel by the end of the 30th of November. That's 1667 words every single day, on average.

The beauty of it is, they don't even have to be good words. This challenge is a test of the self, to discipline yourself. Forget about quality if you're an awful, awful writer, and just prove that you have the willpower to write an entire 50,000 word novel, even if you're the only one who'll ever read it.
Hell, use it as a first draft if you like. Go beyond the 50,000 word limit and use it as a starting point to write an even longer novel. Or, this place being what it is, use it to write a series of short monstergirl smut pieces that all add up to 50,000 words together. Who cares, as long as you hit that mark! Actually, who cares if you even hit the mark in the first place. Even if you fall short of 50,000, you're still going to have written a whole bunch of words by December.

You can sign up to the NaNoWriMo site if you want, for some more detailed stats and word count tracking, along with some more structure and creative help, or you can just do it on Word, with that 1667 word daily goal in mind.
