As Tewi leaves, Marisa cannot help but wonder about the rabbit. Yuuka was definitely correct, but did she have any moral pedestal? She committed the same crime.

She raped Anon and conceived a child under false pretenses. B-But he at least wanted to do it. Did he want to do it with Tewi? D-Did he want to do it with all the inaba? And what of the pregnancies? Did he know? Is he happy to have so many children or did they force him one after another?

Tewi clearly feels no guilt, so Marisa would want to say that Anon wasn’t abused, but perhaps Tewi is more shameless than she appears. If so…

Before Marisa could finish that thought, Mima began. “Allow me to state the obvious, we are at war. Before, it was my intention to adhere to the customs of Gensokyo’s incidents. Doing so would have afforded us a considerable level of protection and greatly diminished the risk of bloodshed. Now, however, that would be foolish. Yukari has shown her hand; she cannot be trusted to keep to any pacts or abide by any set of morals. At this point, I fail to see anything she would not be willing to do to secure victory. For that reason attempting to maintain any level of decency would be putting everything we care about at risk.”

It’d be incorrect to say Mima was pacing because she lacked legs, but there isn’t a better word to describe the way the vengeful spirit floated back and forth. She’s so assured, entirely confident in her path. Marisa wishes she could feel the same. “Wars are won and lost on initiative. Yukari has seized on our blindness and taken it. She has allies, she has done unspeakable things to those we care about, and she is preparing countermeasures. We meanwhile have been building strength and stockpiling potions. I will not say those efforts were wasted as without them we likely would stand no chance against Yukari, however, at this point, little can be gained from a few more days of training. Now is the time to gather intelligence and sabotage Yukari in any way we can. To do that we need to know her allies-”

Yuuka interrupts suddenly, the slightest beginnings of a blush on her cheeks. “I have a list. I do not know if there are any others, but the information I have gathered seems quite extensive.”

Mima ceases her pacing and blinks before giving Yuuka a confused look. “You have a list of her allies? How did you get it?”

Yuuka clears her throat, her cheeks beginning to properly heat up. “Her lackeys, the incompetent monk and his Amanojaku… mate approached me with some questions. Basic things like if we planned to actually destroy Gensokyo and my trip to heaven to acquire Hana’s gift. In turn, they gave a list of her allies. If I recall, a Taoist witch, the Scarlet Devil Mansion, the Kiketsu family, a strange Oni, various Tengu, and tentatively Kasen. Apparently, her loyalty is uncertain.”

Eh? The Scarlet Devil Mansion? Patchy and everyone? Why would they get involved in this, it doesn’t concern them. Why… why’d…?

At the very the other guests share similar expressions. Alice looks wary, Aunn is furious, Mima looks slightly confused while Shinki-wait, Shinki is back?

The Goddess of Makai is indeed back and seems to have things to say. “I believe we are forgetting something here.”

Mima tilts her head at Shinki, even more confused than before. “What is it?”

Shinki nods towards Kosuzu who panics as the room’s attention falls on her. Shinki continues, “Kosuzu has been a faithful ally so far, but the danger has drastically risen now. The current situation is perhaps more than she initially signed up for. There would be no shame in leaving now and looking after your kin.”

Aunn places a hand on Kosuzu’s arm while giving her a resolute look. “Don’t worry if you can’t go any further, we’ll… we’ll beat every single one of their butts extra hard for you!”

Kosuzu looks down, avoiding Shinki’s eyes. Marisa expects to hear the bookkeeper mumble out an excuse as to why she can’t continue, but she is totally silent.

Shinki shrugs, “I will not force your hand, but you will need to make up your mind soon. Now where were we?”
