I remember reading something that the "kappas wreck your ass" thing came from the fact that the Japanese would find drowning victims and the victim would, understandably, be full of water and all distended, including the anus. At the time, they had no clue why this would happen, so obviously it was a monster.

Anyway, Nitori would never do anything to your anus. Well, not things you wouldn't like, anyway.

Has Touhou ever moved you to tears?

If so, what game, music, doujin or image was it? Or was it something else?
Was it a certain character in particular?

I remember tearing up during and when I finally beat Nitori's stage (this was in my early days of playing Touhou)

Yeah. The problem is if you don't crit and they do use axetinguisher, you're in trouble. But it's worth it for the THWOMP bzzzzzt crit noises and embarassing the pyro. ¯3¯
