Some relevant information if The Hollow Man is actually not a work of fiction and is real to some degree:

Reality is only such a way because we define reality. If all of humanity was gone, there would be nothing to govern reality and everything would just go away. The "if a tree falls in a forest and no one's around to hear it" thing.

So, you define your reality as you see fit. You interpret the world around you as you see fit according to conventional knowledge of those who came before. If you can define reality as you see fit, you can make your waifu real, at least for you. To make her real for everyone else involves letting all of humanity inside your mind to see her.

Magic exists for those who wish it to exist.

...not that I expect anyone to have read The Hollow Man, but I just finished it and it had a lot of ideas that should be real.

Also, according to the thing...if you focus on another "branch" of reality hard enough, you can exist there. There is a "you" in a "Gensokyo," but it won't be THE you, sitting here right now. You pretty much fragment-hop and transfer what is "you" here into the "you" in the other world.
