Actually I see what you both mean and am willing to concede she might not be directly related to Bernkastel. I might liken her to Bastet: Ra's daughter and defender who was also once a sun goddess but is now the primary Egyptian feline figure. Bastet as well represents secrets and protection, and to see her represent her religion would also be satisfactory. They could really be very devout Ra worshippers, or Bastet's new lunar affiliation could point to a subversion and this could really refer to Thoth altogether, though her ears are very distinct from Grave Mole girl's. This totally just consolidates that Cairo's group is Ra-centric.
Though aside it could be deliberate, were she a Bernkastel avatar, that she preserves and loses the opposite traits her predecessors do.
