odd because i feel it's the exact opposite. and 2011 sounds more fitting. the 1999 VA plays another character down the road which helps contrast and show how much worse 1999 hisoka is. oh also gon's VA gives one of the greatest performances in anime later.

sucks they cut the scene for kite but other than that good. if 1999 had been able to cover the manga to the same extent as 2011 it might have been a 200 episode series which is frankly disgusting.

sure. for example the imagery of kurapika wrapped in his chains was better in 1999. i especially like 1999's art during the chimera ant arc. but they trade blows in animation and sound. the greed island OVA was an abomination btw.

the filler is bad. we already know our characters. we don't need worthless padding to keep us from getting to the good stuff. it causes people like ciaran to quit because gon and friends are still talking to those stupid animals. it's odd that someone got brainwashed on 1999 because of a vocal minority of shitposters on /a/ before they've even watched both versions. i remember you posting that disingenuous comparison of kurapika's chain animation at the mansion before watching the series too. while the animation is still better for that scene in 1999, the gif cuts out 2011's relevant portion of animation and there are other scenes in the mansion where 2011's animation is better.
