As someone who also has this fetish, I will explain it to you using an overly complex metaphor.

People are like porcupines. We all have our problems, flaws, and emotional baggage. Just comes with life. These problems are ever-present and don't just go away. Sure we can just face each other head-on and never show our backs, but we can't face everything at the same time. Sooner or later, something will creep up on our backs, and we will be powerless to stop it. Sure, our spines can deter some threats, but they wont stop something big like a gun shot. So it only makes sense to have someone to watch your back. You'll get close, so close that your spines will pierce eachothers backs. It'll hurt like hell, but you'll probably get used to it, and you'll heal to accommodate the spines in your back. You'll get closer and closer, until finally the spines are so deep inside you that if you move to roughly, you will experience unbearable pain. When you're like this, all it will take is a prick and your heart will be lethally ruptured. You can always separate, but you'll still bleed out and experience a pain until you heal back up. Then again, you might just bleed to death, but that's rare. Then someday, you'll once again have want for someone to cover your back. It'll be harder for the spines to pierce the scarred flesh, but if you relax, they'll end up just as deep as they were before.

In addition to this there is a special kind of porcupine that gets its rocks off from the pain of having their back pierced. These porcupines are called masochists, and you're one of them.

I also guess it's something about a woman being completely unable to control herself because she's enjoying the sex so much. You can choose either explanation, to be honest. I don't have a fucking clue why either.
