This game is absolutely, absolutely worth the money. Every element of its production is stellar in quality. The intricacy of its plot, subtlety, and pacing are on par with the better mystery novels, and many of the characters are fantastic. Definitely warrants a buy IMO, especially since that will heighten the possibility of us seeing more English released from Innocent Grey - one of which is the upcoming sequel to Kara no Shoujo.

If you're in it for the yuri, you may be disappointed. Toko and Toko don't get a happy ending no matter how you play the game. However, they're hardly the only ones; friends, companions and lovers get torn apart by tragedy pretty much at every turn in this game.

Furthermore, I was pleasantly surprised to see none of the more irritating tropes to yuri fans in Kara no Shoujo at all. Neither leaves the other for a man, not even if you choose to have Reiji enter a sexual relationship with Toko (you can also choose not to). When Mizuhara's love for Toko takes a turn for the worse, it's motivated by much more than EPL jealousy, and there are no "but we're two girls so WE CAN'T!" scenes.

What's more, the game doesn't leave yuri hints as just subtext. A lot of people acknowledge Mizuhara's affection without question; when it is remarked upon, it's not because they're both girls, but because Mizuhara is so insistent. Yukari even refers to Toko and Toko as an S couple in a conversation with Reiji later on. Heck, Toko's theme in the music player is called S - and yes, that does refer to what you think it does (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Class_S_%28genre%29).).

Kara no Shoujo as a whole really has a literary flavor, a combination of postwar-era S novels and mystery fiction (with more than a dash of Kyougoku Natsuhiko's Mouryo no Hako mixed in there too). It's so good I fear nothing can equal it, not even other InnoGrey games.

Lucky we have KnS 2 to look forward to, then...
