There isn't really any such thing as "canon" in Touhou is there.
ZUN himself has said his own work doesn't amount to anything more than "二次創作”, derivative, or fan-work. That's why it's Compared to say Ryukishi07's attitude, that's why Touhou has remained Doujin to this day.

That said, Sakuya is the best maid.
