I had similar problem with MPC-HC+madVR. Other media players and shaders in MPC-HC are fine though, so it must be the settings in madVR but I couldn't figure it out.

Pretty much the same as what Emiri said, out of many actors out there only few ones on the top are allowed to do penetration.
