They’re both good games, but I do admit that the gameplay might not be for everyone.
Lobotomy Corp in particular is infamous for it’s exponentially increasing difficulty and require more than one total reset/new game + in order to get the true ending. So while Library of Ruina is the direct sequel to LobCorp, it is the easier one to get into if you’re mostly here for the story. The general consensus from the PM threads is also to try to pirate them at first to see if you like the games, as they aren’t any proper demos.

As for the boys, the cast have a split 50:50 gender ratio and there's no romance between the main cast at all. If you looking for BL/fujo material there's an all-but-confirmed homo old man (he has a younger form if you're not into that) and LoR's MC is generally pretty shippable with the rest of the boys.
Most characters also look pretty androgynous, see pic related for average PM's character design.
