Sony have invested so much in the group, yet all their effort and budget was wasted due to poor management and advertising.
really, lack of effort from the members is one thing, but I think the root cause of it all goes back to Sony. they invested heavily expecting bit returns quick, and when that didn't happen, they started frantically trying a million different things to see what sticks.
Had they actually stuck with one or two of those things, and developed them further, they might have seen the returns they were hoping for.
