Focused, Aya noticed the differences between the Hakurei Shrine and the Experience. As far as the tengu could tell, there were two: First was the magic embedded in the walls. Every square inch felt like it was watching her. The reporter was ashamed of herself for not noticing it before. Of course the cunning Sage would watch her prisoner’s every move and monitor his visitors. So, Aya pretended to take her pill from the hanging cabinet she knew all too well and wipe it on her clothes. That should be enough to throw her off.

Second was the smell emanating from the walls. It was subtle. Yukari had to know that any youkai worth their salt would notice it. Following her nose to the spot where it was strongest, Aya gave the wall a solid knock: Hollow. There were censers in the walls, hidden from humans that couldn’t track it and youkai that would fall victim to their influence before finding it.

“Honey, are you okay in there?” Crap, not again!

“Yes! I just dropped something! Just stay there in the living room until I come back, I need room to focus!”

“O-Okay, dear. I understand.” He sounded almost hurt. Goddamnit Aya, did you forget who this guy was married to? Just put the pill in Anon’s cup, add the sugar and add a little something extra. Check the cup again. The pill’s in? Good. Now pour the tea. Well done Aya, you successfully drugged the human. Now be his wife.

Carrying their drinks in a tray, Aya carefully set Anon’s cup in front of him before taking her own. She was a little more conscious of how close she sat to the father of her children. “Sorry for the wait. I’ll bet you’ve never had tea like this before!”

“I’m sure your tea will taste delicious, dear.” Aya knew that Anon was being polite the last time. There’s no way he liked six spoonfuls of sugar in green tea. This time his praise would be genuine.

“I think I wanna hear about some of your adventures, Anon. If there’s one thing in short supply, it’s the opinion of outsiders. Tell me how you found your way when you first came to Gensokyo.”

“It isn’t all that interesting. I was just some guy that got lost in the woods before making it to the Human Village.”

“It’s not about the destination, Anon. Tell me every detail you can remember: What did your first glimpse of Gensokyo look like? How did you find out about the village in the first place? Who did you meet first? Every little thing makes up that first walk into Gensokyo, and I wanna be the one to write it!” The reporter’s eyes were gleaming, her pen hovering over her notebook, waiting to make stroke one. Taking a sip of his tea, Anon couldn’t help but oblige her. She made good tea, so he owed her. At least conversation wasn’t boring with her.

“I guess it started with lots of greenery, more vibrant than anything I’ve ever seen on the Outside. Like you could see the life flowing through everything…”

As Anon recounted his tale, Aya had him gently massage her wings. After a long day flying without sleep, it felt good to have her feathery appendages stretched and smoothed while she listened to a good tale. Sadly, Anon ruined the mood by stopping his story any time she wrote a few exciting details. It’s highly possible for a celestial maiden to offer her hand in marriage to Anon after his shirtless duel with six youkai!

“… And then I ended up on the outskirts of the Human Village. I’ll never forget that snake’s sacrifice for as long as I live.” Downing the last drops of Aya’s tea, the human finished recounting his tale for the tengu to record in her notes. “Wow, you really weren’t kidding. What did you put in here?”

“What’s the matter Anon, never had tengu tea before? It’s got special herbs from the Youkai Mountain in it.” She had fun teasing Anon for mistakes any human would make navigating Gensokyo, but his praise really touched her heart.

“You know that I couldn’t go there. All the rules about humans and tengu territory made it impossible to gather herbs there. Now I’ve got some in my kitchen and I don’t even know it! At least tell me which ones come from the mountain.”

“Sorry Anon, a woman has to have a few secrets in order to keep her charm~. Speaking of, I think it’s time for me to get going.” Anon was surprised when she started collecting her things.

“W-Wait a minute, don’t you want a bath? Sake?” Usually, clients came back for full sessions. The shy ones would become braver, building up to sex. So why was Aya taking it in reverse?

“Tempting, but not tonight.” The tengu simply continued to leave the grounds. “Oh, by the way, I’ll be back at the same time for the rest of the week!” That was six more days… Why the hell was Aya coming back six more times?! Anon had to run after the departing tengu to bid her goodnight.

The tengu chuckled to herself as she passed the concerned desk attendant. The pills worked.
