I the Gomaki special on TV in 2002 live. I remember the day it was announced that Gotoh would leave the Morning Musume. Have you read her blog? Have you heard her radio interviews? Have you heard what her friends say?

From what I've learned (never been much of a Morning Musume fan either), she returned to USA, became a jazz singer and now she performs in America and Japan.
