To be honest, Some managers have that attitude, because they do not have the time or effort to do so. With those types of people running or managing a store, I hope they fucking die. But, there is not to say that there are some decent employers out there. The sad thing is most of them will take people with the experience and credentials rather than taking a chance on the new guy; however, that is what first impressions are for. It will cost some humility, but you have to make some phone-calls or walk-ins to finally let them understand that you are willing a committing to a job that you might only work for a month or a year.

Listen, it always comes down to... HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT THIS? If they haven't called you about the position you applied for, YOU BETTER GET YOUR ASS IN THERE, because I think you're right about their selections, anon. That is why you must take the time to let them understand who you are, so they aren't so shitty about their picks.
