Had me a bit paranoid since I've been saving a ton of shit off twitter. So I tried saving the same image:
after clicking on the image 1
after clicking on the image then right click 'view image' 2
after doing 2 and changing the URL like >>24395174 said 3
and lastly just saving the picture without opening the tweet 4.
Seems like as long as you open the tweet you are fine. If the image is very large &name=orig might do something but I couldn't find anything that made a difference.
